Asian Burger

The name was not made up to make it sound exotic. As I said on my post Recipes are mere templates it was my sister who made a comment about the burgers that I made.

For those of you who are adventurous and fearless (or just bored of the plain everyday burger) here's the recipe...

ASIAN BURGER

Ingredients:

4 burger buns

500 gr / 1 lbs of ground beef

1/2 tsp of ground cumin

1/2 tsp of ground cardamom

1/2 tsp of ground coriander

1/2 tsp of powdered ginger

1/2 tsp of chili powder

1/2 a cup of finely chopped shallots

1 tsp of kosher salt

1 tsp of freshly ground pepper

Instructions:

  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl

  • Divide the mixture into 4 parts and shape each one into a burger patty

  • Slap them on a hot grill and cook them to your liking

  • Once they're done build your burger by adding lettuce, sliced tomato, cheese, or whatever you want on it.

Here in Geneva you can find a cheese called Fuego which has bits of red chili and green pepper in it, perfect to melt on the Asian burger. And, instead of the traditional ketchup and mayo or mustard, I personally like to add a little squirt of Thai sweet chili sauce on my Asian Fuego cheeseburger, just to make it more Asian...

Oh, by the way...anybody who include the 4 burger buns in the mixture and actually mix them together because I said "Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl" without specifiying that the buns are not included...well...don't worry about it. It won't destroy your burger patties, just remember to get 4 extra buns. Trust me, nobody will notice... :-D

Enjoy!
